Location. Converted from a grand 19th century building, The Palace Hotel in central Manchester, England, is opposite Oxford Road railway station. The Palace Theatre is across the road, King Street's designer shopping and Manchester International Exhibition Centre are 400 metres away and the Imperial War Museum and Manchester United's Old Trafford stadium are three miles from the hotel.
Hotel Features. With its distinctive 217 foot high clock tower, the red brick Grade II listed building, formerly the Refuge Insurance Company, stands on bustling Oxford Street. The large, wood floored lobby features a sweeping cast iron and marble staircase and ornate ceramic tiles.
The Palace Hotel Tempus Restaurant serves buffet breakfasts and lunches and its international brasserie style dinner menus include Risotto Jardiniere and roast duck breast. The Tempus Bar in the lobby serves light meals, cocktails and afternoon teas beneath high, ornate ceilings.
There is a business centre, wireless Internet access and eight meeting rooms including a ballroom for up to 1,000 people.
Guests can buy a discounted day pass for the GL14 health club, 100 metres away, with its gym, indoor pool and spa treatments.

From Manchester International Airport (MAN):
Distance to The Palace Hotel is 10 miles, approximately 20 minutes' drive.
Getting there. Manchester Airport train station is linked to all terminals by a moving walkway. Every hour, up to six trains leave the airport for Manchester Piccadilly station in central Manchester. A single ticket costs 2.65 GBP, and the journey takes about 20 minutes. Skyline bus number 43 runs to the Piccadilly Gardens bus terminal every 10 minutes, and the fare is 2.40 GBP for a single ticket. Buses also run to Stockport and Altrincham. National Express coaches connect the airport to more than 50 UK destinations. Taxis to Manchester city centre cost about 16 GBP 18 GBP. Prices are all subject to change.
Getting around. Central Manchester is easy to explore on foot, and there are many pedestrianised areas. An extensive bus system operates throughout the city during the day and at night. Trams run to The Lowry, Old Trafford, Bury, Eccles, and Altrincham. Taxis can be hailed on the street. Oxford Road railway station is opposite The Palace Hotel.
Driving directions. From Manchester Airport follow signs for Manchester city centre.
Once in the city centre follow signs for Manchester Aquatic Centre.
The Palace Hotel is about two minutes away, on Oxford Street.
