The Hotel Protea Stellenbosch is flanked by two golf courses and overlooks the Blaauwklippen vineyards. The 176 guestrooms have mountain views and are decorated in muted earth tones with dark wood furnishings. All rooms have air conditioning, satellite television, safes, tea and coffee making facilities, and complimentary toiletries.
There is an outdoor pool for cooling off during the hot summer months, and a resident's bar with sun deck overlooking the vineyards and golf course, and a mountain backdrop. Guests can dine at the Aristata Restaurant which serves a variety of grilled and baked dishes, or head for the Black Bull for grilled foods, snack baskets, and live entertainment on Fridays. Conference rooms have capacity for up to 280 delegates, with business services also available. Internet points are available in public areas and there is a safe deposit box at the 24 hour front desk. The Blaauwklippen Wine Estate is three kilometres from the hotel and the white sands of the Strand Beach can be found 15 kilometres away. Cape Town International Airport is 35 kilometres from the hotel, an approximate driving time of 30 minutes.
