Built in 1502 for the first Governor of the Americas, Nicolas do Ovando, the Sofitel Nicolas de Ovando Santon Domingo combines Spanish colonial architecture with contemporary interiors and is sited in the centre of Santo Domingo, 100 metres from Santo Domingo Cathedral and five kilometres from the Acropolis shopping centre. Las Americas International Airport is 30 kilometres from the hotel, with an approximate driving time of 30 minutes.
